Forbes.com recently ran an article on line listing the Top 10 places in the US to sell a home. Usually these lists rank where people should be buying. However, I suppose if it’s a good place to sell, it must be a good place for someone to buy.

Kennesaw is located in the northern part of Cobb County and is considered part of the northwest suburbs of Atlanta. The city is located approximately 25 miles north of center Atlanta but really only 15 miles north of the Buckhead business district.

Back in August 2007, Family Circle Magazine listed Kennesaw as one of the nations “10 Best Towns For Families”. As a Realtor specializing in this area, I can concur that Kennesaw offers a great combination of good schools, a variety of affordable housing options from starter homes to country club estates and is convenient to most major attractions in the metro-Atlanta area.

Kennesaw is also steeped in civil war history. The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is located downtown, next to the Western & Atlantic railroad tracks on Cherokee Street, just off of Main Street (old U.S. 41 and Georgia 3). The museum is the current preservation and display location for The General, the locomotive that played the key role in the Great Locomotive Chase (the Texas which chased it is at the Atlanta Cyclorama). The US Parks Service also operates the Kennesaw Mountain National Battefield Park (http://www.nps.gov/kemo/).
