The 16th Annual Taste of Marietta will be Sunday, April 26 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on the historic Marietta Square. At last year’s event, more than 75,000 people hit the streets to sample their favorite foods. Tastes, including Italian to seafood, steak, BBQ and desserts, range in cost from 50 cents to $4.

In addition to the food and fun, the family festival has outdoor entertainment all day, culminating with the Sunset Concert featuring “Banks & Shane.” Vintage and new cars will be on display at the Wade Ford Car Show.

“With more than 70 restaurants serving their treats and a children’s area with moonwalks, sand art, strolling characters and much more, any festival-goer is bound to have a great time,” festival coordinator Maryclaire Andres said. Marietta Landmark – Getting Ready To Reopen

The Strand Theater, a noted landmark on the historic Marietta Square in Cobb County, opened as a motion picture house in 1935 until its closing in 1976. The premier movie was Top Hat starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. In 2004, a capital campaign was launched to raise $5,000,000 for the restoration and endowment of the theater.
